- 1999 - Present: The Royal Microscopical Society (FRMS).
Elected on the committee, EM section October 2005. - 1988 - Present: The Society of Electron Microscope Technology. This is the largest independent microscopy group, affiliate to the RMS.
- I was elected onto the Committee in 1993 and appointed Vice-chairman in 1995.
- In December 1999 I was appointed Honorary Secretary and retired in 2014.
- 1992 - Present: Cryo-Microscopy Group (CMG). Small specialist user group affiliated to the RMS.
